I am a big fan of cdc flies. It floats really well and adds lots of movement. Usually, if the fly starts sinking all you need to do is dry the cdc and make a few false casts to air it out, and it will float well for a long time. If it’s still sinking, dry it off and dust it with some Frogs Fanny or other powder floatant.
